Stanhope Road School has a new TREEmendous outdoor learning area!
Teachers, students, the Mt Wellington community, Mazda Foundation Trustees, and the team from Project Crimson all got stuck in to transform a previously unused area of the school’s grounds into a new outdoor learning space.
As well as hundreds of native plants, the school also planted a wildflower meadow and vegetable garden as well as creating habitats and food for native birds, lizards bees, and insects.
Zane Wilson, Principal at Stanhope Road School, says “TREEmendous has been such a great learning experience for the students, from designing the outdoor learning area and writing the application, to getting their hands dirty while bringing it all to life on the weekend.”
