Wyndham School

A large unused area next to the school’s tennis court was converted into a native garden, bush plot and outdoor classroom where children can learn about native flora and fauna. The space will encourage more native birds to the area, with the trees providing shelter and a food source. Fruit trees were also planted, teaching students about the importance of growing their own food.

The school spent months plotting ideas on how to create the best space for the children, and a student group called the Environment Helpers, who organise conservation and environment projects, was actively involved in the application process.
